Litecoin

Litecoin launched in 2011 as a faster, lighter version of Bitcoin — four times quicker block times and a 84 million coin supply. It uses the Scrypt hashing algorithm, originally intended to resist ASIC mining, and was one of the first coins to activate SegWit and the Lightning Network. Often called digital silver to Bitcoin's gold, Litecoin has maintained relevance as a reliable payments chain for over a decade. LTC is accepted by thousands of merchants and supported on virtually every major exchange.
